Purchase of Alaska

The issue on this political cartoon is how Seward bought Alaska from Russia. In the political cartoon it has Seward taking Alaska on the treaty with Russia. The cartoonist's message on this issue is that Seward just bought an ice cube from Russia. In the political cartoon it has Seward pulling an ice cube on a cart. Some other opinions people can say on this issue is there might be good resources in Alaska. In the political cartoon it says Russian America and Russian people wouldn't live there without good resources. Some techniques the cartoonist used were labeling and symbolism. In the poetical cartoon it has the labeling of Russian America and treaty, also the ice cube symbolizes Alaska and the cart symbolizes the treaty with Russia. This cartoon is anti-imperialism. In the political cartoon Alaska was Russia's, but we had it added to the U.S.
